What it does
Microsoft Copilot for legal is a set of more than 20 legal skills and partner plugins in Microsoft Copilot, generally available worldwide from 15 October 2026. In Word it drafts agreements and memos from approved precedents and reviews contracts against playbooks, proposing edits as tracked changes that apply only with the user's approval. In Cowork it handles multi-step work across agreements, emails, meetings and files, such as tracking obligations, comparing terms and building case chronologies. Partner plugins bring in legal research, document management, e-signature and e-discovery tools.
