What it does

Portable Computer sets up local agents that run on the user's own machine, working with local files and connected apps to analyse data, synthesise files and run multi-step and scheduled tasks. The orchestrator, planner and model run on the device; when a task needs web search, connected apps or a larger cloud model, it asks for approval before anything leaves the machine. It runs on Windows and Linux and needs an NVIDIA DGX Spark or a PC with a supported GPU and at least 24GB of VRAM. It is available to Perplexity Pro and Max subscribers, and work handled by local models has no per-token charge.
